Timing is everything.

A growing body of research suggests that our bodies function optimally when we align our eating patterns with our circadian rhythms.

Many of you may know that I'm a big supporter of intermittent fasting or "time restricted feeding" as some of the research calls it. It's something I've naturally done for years and was pleasantly surprised to read the body of research showing that time restricted feeding can have a positive effect on weight, hormones, blood sugar, inflammation, and cognition. When correctly applied, it has definitely been a help to my patients.

The first step towards healthy eating habits is not necessarily changing what is on your plate, but WHEN you are eating.

I love coming across information like this in The New York Times!
